wheeee. went for dinner at vibes to celebrate my mom's bdae yesterday >< it's this brazilian-european restaurant. (: i like the decor! it's quite contemporary. glass and aluminium. and omg the food! haha it totally rocked! (x *beams*
like there was a lot of very-fresh-seafood! oysters! [yay yay yay] and crab and prawns and some kind of unknown-but-still-very-yummy fish. *bounce* and the salad bar was absolutely fabulous too. (: very exotic food. oooh and they had spaghetti olio olio and taiwanese mee sua, etc.
haha. oh but the meat was seriously very heavy-going. >< lolz. there were 8 kinds of meat and the guy kept coming up to our table everytime each type of meat was ready, and then he would carve the meat right in front of you. haha quite cool. lolz. but by the time we had about 3 or 4 types of meat, we were like totally bloated. haha so subsequently when i saw the guy coming towards us with the meat and carving knife, i was like "uh oh here comes our friend". lol. ooh but i liked the chicken with bacon, and the beef with bacon, and the fish. (: haha
and i forgot to mention about the cheese bread with the olive dressing. >< and the other kinds of dressing rocked too! there was this garlic dressing and salsa and mint sauce. (:
but the desserts were the real highlight of the dinner haha. there was basically a lot of mousse [pistachio, and green tea+red bean]. oh and there was tiramisu and carrot cake and choc cake. but the ultimate was really the chocolate fondue. there was this huge choc fondue fountain which looked like something out of a willy wonka scene. and a wide selection of fruits to dip in the chocolate! haha and marshmallows too. so i basically took a lot of srawberries and kiwi and marshmallow. whee (: it rocked totally!
and we ordered the brazilian drink caipirinha. it was yummy! rum and lime and sugarcane. lol but the rum taste was really strong haha. so all in all it was a wonderful dinner (x
and then we went to watch chronicles of narnia (: it was very festive haha. all that snow. and it was quite magical too (: haha. lucy is so cute! chubby. hee. oh and would you believe it, on top of getting popcorn and drinks, each of us found a marshmallow cushion on our seats! so cool right. haha i was hugging it all through the movie. (:
ooh and there was this humungous guy in front of us, who was wearing a limegreen tshirt, the exact shade of the cushion. haha. what a gigantic cushion. ><
anyway. xmas is tomorrow! wow i can't wait. i'm going to my grandparents house. another fun family gathering (: my mom's making sweet potato and chestnut pie! and vegetable dips. and wraps. and carrot juice! and godma is buying a log cake and something else[can't remember what. oops]. and auntie rebecca is frying nuggets! and spaghetti. and auntie pat is ordering 2 pizzas! *drools* it's gonna be a feast tomorrow! haha
oh and i'm going for midnight mass tonight. boohoo i can't believe they changed the 9:30 mass to a chinese mass. bahh. so now we have to go for the 12 o'clock one. oh man i'm so going to doze off. but looking on the bright side, midnight mass is much more festive than the 9:30 mass anyway. and i get to sleep in tomorrow morning. (:
i'm counting down to xmas dinner. in about 4 hours time! wow. and there's ocean's eleven tonight! and princess diaries tomorrow! whee haha.
ohh and i received a whole multitude of xmas cards too haha. okay okay i'm exaggerating. 5 xmas cards, actually. thank you maggie, valencia, denise, andrea and elaine for the cards! [haha i'm remembering them in order of the sequence in which i got the cards] hee. and a lot of them had cats on it! (: haha. cute. like me. lol.
ohh and nise gave me a box of pretzel joys! wow. thankyou nise! (: it's on the kitchen shelf now and i have to keep myself from looking at it and drooling. haha. but i've been eating a lot of rubbish so i shall just wait for after xmas before eating it. or on the other hand, since i've already been gorging myself silly, maybe it doesn't hurt to just take a teensy little pretzel joy. haha.
i can't wait for presents! i know what auntie pat and godma are buying for me already and i can hardly wait! haha. (x other than that, well, i guess i'm in for a lot of surprises! lol.
what a long blog entry. haha. and mostly about food. goodness.
